<p>But despite all of this, he really is the sweetest dog ever.  How could you not love that face?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I started this little project over a year ago, and it&#8217;s sat on my hard drive, largely unfinished, for most of that period.  The approach of the 2nd annual <a href="http://www.centerforinquiry.net/carlsaganday">Carl Sagan Day</a> seemed a fitting deadline as incentive to actually get it completed (the narrative being inspired by the late astronomer&#8217;s frequent musings on starstuff and our connection to the Universe).  I need to set deadlines for myself more often.  I might actually get things done.</p>
<p>There are a number of scientific truths that I find exceedingly profound, and somewhere near the top of that list is the notion that the Earth and everything on it, including human beings, was created from the ash of forgotten stars.</p>
